February Announcements

Hi Parents and Students,

I can't believe how fast February is going by!  Here are a few things to keep in mind.

All-levels Group lesson is Monday, February 22 and 5pm at SugarSpace (132 South 800 West). Group lessons are an essential part of your learning and there are things we get there that cannot happen in private lessons. While it is not required to attend all group lessons to remain in the studio I strongly recommend attendance, except for unusual circumstances, and would like to know in advance if you will not attend. This will help me with my planning. As part of the Suzuki Association of Utah teachers convention I attended a 7-hour workshop. The entire 2 days were spent on new group lesson ideas by a teacher at the renowned Colburn school in LA and I am so excited for everything I learned! We used a lot of new ideas at the new student class last Saturday and it was a huge success! Please plan to attend group Monday and review Perpetuo Motion and Minuet 1 extra to prepare. Also, those playing at federation will perform their pieces for the group. As always, please arrive 5 minutes early so we can unpack and start on time. Parents, if your student is under 10 your attendance is expected. If any parents need to leave their students (10+)  during the group please let me know ahead of time and plan to be back by 5:45pm. Your cooperation is appreciated.

New student group lessons are for all students Twinkles to Etude. They are at my home in Farmington Saturday mornings 9am March 5, April 9, May 14. This group is so fun and I plan so many activities and treats I really need to know at least the day before if you won't be able to attend.

Here are a few really fun and encouraging blogs I am enjoying reading these days. Even with how busy I am it is definitely worth the 5 minutes or less to read and I always find myself inspired and renewed!  AND

Please visit the calendar at for more upcoming events. No private lessons February 22-27. As always, please let me know if you have any questions, ideas or suggestions. Happy practicing!
