I am so excited at how well everyone played at graduation!
Congratulations! It was so fun to see you all perform and I hoped you enjoyed
watching the other levels as well. Here are a few news items for
February.
First, February is Observation month. One great way to
really understand music and see the big picture is by watching your peers. You
will be surprised to see that I often tell students in different books the same
thing as I tell you! What are others doing that works well and what would you
like to try? Please try to watch at least 2 lessons this month. I have attached
a schedule to this email to show you when other lessons are.
Second, I know sometimes life happens and you might need to miss your lesson.
Please feel free to use the attached schedule to trade times with each other.
Several of you have already done this and it works well. If you want the most
updated version of the calendar please go to gmail.com . Please email me for the password and username. Once you are logged in click on
calendar in the upper left corner. Please do NOT alter the schedule. My days
are so crazy I can’t remember everything and this is directly linked to my
calendar. I’d hate to miss someone’s lesson!
Third, Federation is quickly approaching. I have lots of information about this
and have attached it to this email. I strongly encourage everyone who has
graduated from Twinkles to participate.
February is also Viola Graduation. If you have any questions please let me
know. I would love for all the violists to attend.
Group lessons are Saturday, February 11th this month, at Summerhays. We will
follow the same format as last month and have the beginning group
(Twinkles-Allegro) 10-11am and the advanced group (Allegro+) 11am-noon.
Advanced group: please bring a music stand, review and bring your fiddling
music, and prepare a solo to play for the group.
