Dear Parents and Students,

This fall is really a lot of fun and I especially enjoyed our very spooky, exciting group lesson last month. It’s good for us all to remember that when we practice and listen every day and put in the effort, we can be rewarded by having a wonderful sound, easily remember our review pieces, and have fun!

Upcoming Events…

Our Fall Recital will be Thursday, November 21 at Holladay City Hall (4580 South 2300 East). Please arrive around 6pm for tuning and the recital will begin at 6:30pm. Megan Titensor will be accompanying us and is having a rehearsal at her home Friday, November 15 in the afternoon (1230 East Roosevelt Avenue). If you would like to provide your accompanist please let me know. I strongly recommend using Megan for students Book 2+. Accompanying fees are minimal, Book 1 $7, Book 2 $10, Book 3-4 $15, Book 5+ $20. Please make these payable to me and include in your November tuition.   We are currently selecting recital pieces. If you will not be able to participate please let me know.

No Private Lessons November 25-29.

Group Lessons will be Tuesday, November 26 at Summerhays. We will be rehearsing for our Christmas outreach performance. We will have warm-ups, technique, review for everyone 5-5:30pm. Then at 5:30-6:30pm we will be rehearsing our Christmas music. Please bring your music stand and Christmas book. If you do not yet have the pink Christmas book you may order them at or Day Murray Music. It is Christmas Duets for Violins by Will Schmid. ISBN 0-7935-1891-1

Our Christmas Outreach performance will be Saturday, December 7th at 10:30am. Please arrive around 10am for tuning and set-up. We are playing for residents at Highland Care Center (4285 South Highland Drive). Please wear black bottoms and a Christmas color on top. Please bring your Christmas book and music stand. This is always a very enjoyable experience for the residents and players and will be lots of fun! This will replace our December group lesson.

Happy practicing!
