September Announcements

Dear Parents and Students,

The fall semester is starting Tuesday and I hope you are as excited as I am! Regular lessons will be held in Salt Lake Tuesdays and Fridays at the Kelsons home, 3052 South Cascade Way (3560 East) and Thursdays at my home, 36 West Rice Lane in Farmington.  I am attaching the schedule to this email. Please double check your time.

Group lessons begin Monday, September 21 5-6pm at the NEW Sugarspace, 132 South 800 West Salt Lake City. Please bring your instrument, music and stand to all group lessons. After the group lesson we will be having a short fun ice cream social (about half an hour). Please bring your favorite ice cream topping to share and I will provide the rest. I would love to have 1-2 adult helpers to get things set up so it is ready when we finish the lesson. This will be a kick-off for our 75 day in a row practice challenge.

This fall we will ALL (myself included) be doing a 75 day in a row practice challenge. This will be very fun and motivating and I will have charts and incentives along the way. I know everyone is capable of building this wonderful habit of daily practice and this will be a great way to start it! During the ice cream social we will discuss rewards for everyone who practices 75 days in a row. I would like to make the reward big enough that it is a real motivation yet keep costs low enough so that everyone can participate. Some of my ideas are: a pizza party with music games and possibly a music movie, a fun night at Classic Skating. I would love to hear any ideas from parents and/or students. Also, if you have siblings that play musical instruments they are more then welcome to do the challenge with us and come to the party.

We have a few brand new (to violin) students this semester and I have created a new student class to give additional instruction, and for students at a similar level and age to get to know each other. The first new student class is Saturday, September 26th at 9am at my home in Farmington. I have already sent an email out regarding this class and would love all new students to attend as many as they can. Class will be 30-40 minutes and I would like parents to plan to attend and learn with us. All new students who have never played violin will need supplies for a box violin. This can be found at KristianaSandberg.com under what to bring to your first violin lesson.

As always, please check the website KristianaSandberg.com especially for the calendar. And please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for making the studio so wonderful!

Ms. Kristiana
